Danny Schechter is a journalist, author, Emmy award-winning television producer, independent filmmaker, and media critic. He is a co-founder and executive producer of Globalvision, a New York-based television and film production company. He was a producer for ABC News 20/20 where he won two national Emmys and was nominated for two others. He was also a producer on the start-up staff at CNN. After college, he was a full time civil rights worker and then communications director of the Northern Student Movement, and worked as a community organizer in a War on Poverty program. Danny Schechter’s writing has been published in leading newspapers and magazines. His latest film is "Plunder: The Crime of our Time," and the companion book is "The Crime of our Time: Why Wall Street is not too Big to Jail."
